So, I’m putting all my energy and focus (I know, there’s not that much, right?) towards our own 2017 Windy City BMW VintageFest show. It will be held on a Saturday this year, September 16th from 10am-2pm. Every year I say it’s better than the last one, but maybe this year’s will be epic. No, we can’t handle 650 cars registering, but the more the merrier. Thankfully, the gracious folks at ZF Sales and Service in beautiful Vernon Hills, Illinois, have once again offered us their ideal location. This is a great chance to see a wide variety of BMW’s—from Z8’s to Isettas, from a Neue Klasse to a Z1. And this could be the largest gathering of 2002’s & E30’s in the region. Maybe an S85-powered E30 M3.  Plus, your registration includes an opportunity to win a door prize whether you plan to show your car or not. And remember, this is not one of those white-gloved concours shows you see Wayne Carini attending-although there are some spectacular cars that are in that category. We welcome any and all vintage and even some late model BMW’s. Please just let us know in advance that you plan to attend. Online registration will be available at www.windycitybmw.com starting July 1. Hubby’s In the Dog House will return this year with their huge cart full of encased meat delicacies. They do not disappoint.

Once again, we are expanding this event to make a difference for folks in need. We ask that everyone bring a non-perishable food item or make a financial donation to the Northern Illinois Food Bank (they can buy $8 of food for every $1 donated).

I will be calling and begging some new and different sponsors for prizes this year, but some of the well-known, long time sponsors will also be donating cool schtuff.  If you are a vendor or maybe would just like to recommend a company possibly willing to donate a prize (or prizes), please shoot me an email with the details and I’ll be happy to contact them. It’s getting harder to ask the same companies again and again each year, and we are thankful for all of the companies who have generously supported this event over the years like Tire Rack, Blunttech, AKG Motorsport, Griot’s Garage, LaJolla Independent, Leatherique, and The Werk Shop to name a few.

Get busy Bimmerheads. September will be here before you know it. We’d hate for you to miss this.

If you have any questions, please call or email Trent (tweable@msn.com; 773-391-6851)

Deadline for a t-shirt is September 3 and EVENT DEADLINE is September 10.
